What GitHub Copilot Pro+ credits buy

$39/month with $70 a month in GitHub AI Credits ($39 base + $31 flex, which GitHub says may change; 1 credit = $0.01), per the plans page.
  • $70/month in GitHub AI Credits ($39 base + $31 flex; flex allotments "may change over time"). 1 credit = $0.01.
  • Code completions and next edit suggestions don't use credits and stay unlimited on paid plans.
  • Older annual Pro+ plans that stayed on premium-request billing get 1,500 premium requests a month; extra requests are $0.04 each × the model's multiplier.
  • Not confirmed: Credit-to-API price parity is not confirmed: GitHub says credits used "depends on the model you choose and the complexity of the task" and doesn't say they match API list prices.

Ranges use our reference mix: output 5–15% of tokens and cache reads 30–80% of the input side. API prices as of 18 Oct 2026 from the daily price index. We assume credits are spent at API list price. That parity is not confirmed by GitHub, so treat these as estimates, not what the credits are guaranteed to buy.
